Weiss says that one or a few characters that survive in the books, will have not the same fate in the second season. “The scenes with Jon Snow to the north of the wall are among the most spectacular things in terms of action we have. No one is safe. There are characters that fans enjoy and that will not survive. Some survive in the books but they will die in the serie …  We have a lot of surprises coming up. “ source

i don’t like this kind of surprise

This is not new news. The information re: who lives and who dies is NOT connected to Jon Snow.

They made a similar statement last season, and it turns out it was just Khal Drogo’s bloodrider, Mago (he of the ripped out throat). I’d bet they were talking about Rakharo, tbh.

I really hope this did not make Jon’s fans upset. To me it’s so obvious it will be You-know-who who dies north of the Wall [edit for clarity] in ASOS and not in ACOK, but from what they say it could also be one of Jon’s friends, Pyp or Grenn.

Are they sadists, beside smug? “Spectacular? Surprises”? Said of a character’s death with what sounds like glee? This could come out of Joffrey’s mouth.

Heavens, I thought I was joking when I wrote in my latest review, referring to the show, “Anyone can die… EVEN MORE!”

I hope my process of slowly caring less and less about ASOIAF hurries up, so I’ll be able to stop watching and forget about it for good. I can stand to get hurt, but not mocked.
